Formation Technology was founded by Jimmy Apodaca, who spent eight years in large public school district IT departments before leaving to start the company in 2013. His goal was simple: bring that same enterprise-level IT support to independent schools and smaller organizations that couldn't build big departments of their own. That firsthand experience — knowing what educators actually need from the inside — is the foundation everything we do is built on.

What started as an education IT consultancy quickly grew as local charter schools came on board. We transitioned from project-based consulting to full ongoing support — handling managed IT, SIS administration, and CALPADS reporting all under one roof. Along the way, we took on application development and technology projects tailored to large enterprise-scale organizations and school networks. Today our services support thousands of students and hundreds of educators across Southern California.

We've since expanded to serve churches, nonprofits, and businesses — organizations with a purpose. We assign dedicated technicians to every client.
